UFO over York? Police probe reports of space debris falling in York
POLICE are investigating after a member of the public reported a hole in the ground in York, which he believed was caused by debris falling from space.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the force was called just before 1am today by someone reporting the hole in Hazel Close, New Earswick, who though it was caused by space debris.
“An officer attended the scene and found a hole in a grass verge approximately 1ft deep,” she said.
“There was no debris inside the hole and we are not in a position to confirm how or when the hole was made. The City of York Council will be made aware of the hole.”
Meanwhile, The Press Chief Reporter Mike Laycock has said that he witnessed what appeared to be a UFO over York last night.
“I caught a fleeting glimpse of a bright blue-green light flashing through the sky very fast at about 8.45 pm,” he said.
“It appeared to shoot towards the ground to the west of the city. I have no idea if it has any connection with the report of space debris.”
