UFO Seen By Multiple Witnesses Over Hervey Bay, Queensland Australia - Photo

The picture is not much to go on but it is a sighting that lasted more then 10 minutes which rules out meteors, meteorites, comets etc and it also change direction. Along with the photo it had multiple witnesses so it is somewhat unusual to have all these things in one sighting.

Hervey Bay is a city in Queensland, Australia. The city is situated approximately 290 kilometres (180 mi) or 4 hours north of the state capital, Brisbane, and lies on the coast of a natural bay between the Queensland mainland and nearby Fraser Island.

Toogoom resident Maggie MacLeod did and she's curious to know what other people made of it.

"There was this bright comet-like object with a small tail - it looked like a plane was on fire," she said on the Chronicle's Facebook page.

"I went over to the beach to watch it. It was going down, then sideways and then the tail disappeared.

"I went up to a group of people on the beach and pointed it out to them ... by this time it was a big red ball in the sky near where the sun had set.

"We all watched it for another 10 minutes or so and then all of a sudden it grew a tail again, sprouted sideways and disappeared."
