How How much attention do you pay to what’s going on in the skies above you? Until now all our video recordings of UFOs were captured because of luck: Someone looked at the sky, saw something unusual and just happened to have a camera and managed to capture the object in time before it disappeared. The result of that moment is often a very shaky and unclear video of the event.
I believe we can have a much higher number of good footage if we change the way we have been looking for UFOs. The UFO Detector program allows anyone to monitor the skies day and night for possible UFO’s. All you need is a USB webcam with a decent video quality.
Having more footage will allow us to try to find answer to questions like: Where do UFO’s appear the most? How do they move? What do they look like? What can we learn from observing them?

✓ Detect candidate objectsDetection algorithm that looks for light emitting objects which cannot be identified.
✓ Record detected objectsLossless video recording in the highest possible quality.
ToDo: Cross-platform supportMake the Detector work on any platform. Raspberry PI is a top priority.
ToDo: Prevent manipulation of recorded videosCreate a secure file format where I can guarantee that the video is exactly how it was recorded from the webcam and has not been manipulated.
ToDo: Provide platform to analyse and discuss the videosCreate an online platform where the video files can be uploaded from inside the detector. The community will be able to rate, analyse and discuss the videos in a professional way. The purpose of the platform is to gather and analyse the submitted evidence in an unbiased way.
