Former detective Gary Heseltine set up a website in 2002 to record UFO sightings made by police officers.
His Police Reporting UFO Sightings (PRUFOS) now has more than 500 documented cases involving over 1,000 police officers, dating back to 1901.
One of the most startling occurred near Emley Moor TV mast on November 2 1986 when nine people witnessed what was recorded on an official West Yorkshire Police report as a “possible UFO sighting.”
