Witness Claims a Pair Of UFOs Were Given Chase By Black Helicopter

Pair of Triangle UFOs seen flying over UK

A man claims he saw a helicopter give chase to a pair of UFOs flying over Exmouth on Monday night.

The man, who did not want to be named, said he was smoking a cigarette in his garden at around 10.30pm when he spotted two ‘triangle spaceships’ flying over Phear Park and the Withycombe Raleigh area of Exmouth.

The man said the shapes were being followed by what he thought was a helicopter; he said the helicopter eventually gave up the chase and flew off in the Sidmouth direction.

He said he wished he had taken a photograph, but claims the incident happened too quickly to react.

The man said: “The two of them were bouncing around and then the helicopter turned up and seemed to try chase them through the sky.

“They bounced one way and then the other and then headed back in land, not towards the sea. They went off pretty quickly, not supersonic or anything, but faster than a plane.

“The helicopter was trying to follow them but gave up and headed towards Sidmouth.”

He added: “I know it sounds crazy but I saw what I saw. I wish I got a picture. I would be very surprised if no one else saw them or heard the helicopter.”

Several claims of UFO sightings over Exmouth have been reported over recent years.

In 2010 UFO-sceptic Roy Shaw, from Withycombe Raleigh told of the moment he came face-to-face with an unidentified object and ‘shimmering shape’ in Phear Park.

The retired engineer and his dog, Syd, ran for home when the white shape began walking towards them, making a droning noise.

After the event, Mr Shaw drew what he had seen.

At the time a ‘shocked’ Mr Shaw said he ‘couldn’t believe’ what he had seen: “The object was round in shape and about 30 feet in diameter with blue and red flashing lights on its perimeter, and it appeared to land at the top end of the park by the bowling green.

“My dog started to growl when what I can only describe as a white shape came towards us.

“It was about four-feet high and seemed to be translucent, and moved very slowly towards us.

“I was transfixed because it made a droning noise which sounded like ‘my my,’ over and over again, which I could not understand.

“I immediately ran back down through the park, and when I got home I then phoned my younger brother Tom, and told him what I had seen, Tom told me to ring the police, but I didn’t because I did not think they would believe me.

“My dog Syd kept whimpering and kept looking out of the bedroom window towards the park, until at least 2am in the morning, and I had problems sleeping because I just kept going over in my mind what I had seen.”

In the same year a pair of UFO sceptics from Budleigh Salterton and East Budleigh saw unexplained lights and shapes in the sky.

One sighting was described as like ‘weird; like light particles’.

An elderly dog walker shone a torch at a large square box ‘full of light’, hovering above East Budleigh Church.

At the time she said: “It was so big and quiet. You would have expected it to have made some noise.

“It wasn’t a Chinese lantern. It was bigger and had 100 per cent lights all over it.

“There seemed to be lots of lights, or maybe one big light that went around the circumference.

“I don’t know what to believe. It was very strange. It was very quiet and drifted off.”

UFO activity was reported again in 2009, when footage of a mystery flying object shot over the sea at Sandy Bay was posted online.

Many UFO spotters hailed the sighting as the ‘real thing’.

The film showed a silver-white diamond shape hovering in the clear sky above the water. Also visible were several darker, cylindrical, objects.

In a separate sighting at the start of 2009, a trio of round UFOs with ‘very bright orange lights’ were seen over Exmouth by Tom Crowther.

He said the objects were too low to be normal aircraft.

Speaking in 2009, Mr Crowther said: “Looking up I saw two very bright orange lights moving at a very quick pace.

“About five minutes later another bright orange light flew in exactly the same direction as the previous two.

“This time I opened the window to listen but the object did not admit a sound.

“It was a very, very strange sighting. This is the first time I’ve seen anything like it.”

Just days before Ryan Swindon, a DJ, claimed he saw a 20-foot UFO in the sky over Exmouth ‘flying in all directions’, at the same height as a helicopter. He said the UFO had ‘quite amazing manoeuvre’.

Mr Swindon said at the time: “There was a round ship with red lights on the outlining of the ship, with a blue light in the middle moving like LED lights.”

Exmouth man Gary Qualter filmed unidentified flying objects from his back garden in the summer of 2000.

The film shows six objects in two groups of three – each group silently chasing the other UFOs in the sky.

Speaking in 2009, when the film was shared publicly, Mr Qualter said: “The six objects were in two groups of three, two white objects and one blue in each group. Each object appeared to have three sections. All six were spinning at the same speed. They silently drifted across the sky, relatively slowly. They were fairly high up, but were certainly not birds or aeroplanes.”

He added: “The quality is fairly poor because the objects were too distant to see on the LCD screen or through the viewfinder of my camcorder. I just pointed it in the right direction, zoomed in and hoped for the best.”

UFO expert Nigel Wright, who lived at Berry Close, Littleham, said at the time: “They appear to be dog-fighting. It’s not unusual for them to be doing it, but it’s the first time over Exmouth for the last 100 years.”
