Grand Haven-Firsthand accounts of unidentified flying objects in West Michigan will be told on a new television show.

A film crew from the United Kingdom’s Raw Television Productions is currently in the Grand Haven area to film and interview residents for an upcoming series.

A company spokeswoman said they couldn't release the name of the show or the channel it would air on because of contract issues.

The production company has previously worked with shows such as “Gold Rush” on the Discovery Channel and “Paranormal Witness” on Syfy.

Kevin Collier, who writes the Tribune's "Strange Grand Haven" column, said he supplied the program’s researcher with content of reports in the area. He said the group said their focus is Lake Michigan’s connection to paranormal activity, especially accounts of UFOs over the water.

Doug Saunders, a technical specialist and investigator for Mid-Michigan Area Paranormal Patrol, sat in the audience during a filming session as witnesses described experiences with unidentified flying objects over Lake Michigan. He said the show will draw attention to West Michigan.

“It was an interesting experience listening to what people felt they had encountered,” he said.

Connie Jones, a co-founder of the paranormal group Gathering Research and Stories of Paranormal Phenomenon, also watched the filming session. She said it was interesting to hear witnesses' stories. You can read about one of the more recent UFO sightings here.
